Emergency repair of Longnan flood disaster damaged power grid in Gansu Province by State Grid   2010-8-16

    Beijing, August 16 (Xinhua) according to the State Grid website, the reporter learned from the front-line headquarters of Longnan 8.12 extraordinary flood storm of state grid that as of 21:00 on August 14, the number of electric power repair personnel and 116 vehicles put into Longnan disaster area by State Grid has reached 1026. Among them, 437 people came from power supply companies such as Lanzhou, Dingxi, Tianshui and Baiyin.

    In the early morning of August 12, a torrential rain occurred in some areas of Longnan City, with a rainfall of more than 141 mm, causing floods and mudslides. Many national and provincial roads were interrupted due to water damage or landslides. Many people were killed in some towns and 10000 people were trapped. The disaster caused great losses to the power facilities, especially the power grids in the towns of Huangzhu, Wangmo, Nankang and Songping in Chengxian county and Mayan town in Huixian county. The four "very" of vice provincial government of Gansu Province summarize the flood disaster in South Gansu: the disaster is very serious, involving a wide range, causing great losses, and the rescue is difficult.

    According to the information we have learned, the catastrophic flood disaster caused a total of 5 110 kV lines, 30 35 kV lines and 107 10 kV lines to be cut off, the power grid in the disaster area was broken or damaged, the 110 kV Huangzhu substation was submerged, and the power supply of 137000 users was interrupted. The power grid disaster situation in some severe disaster areas is still in difficult investigation.

    The State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company launched the emergency plan on the morning of 12 April, established an emergency command center, formulated the emergency repair plan, quickly organized Longnan power supply company to rescue itself at the first time, coordinated the deployment of repair materials and personnel, and dispatched relevant units to support Longnan disaster area. Entrusted by Yin Zhengmin, general manager of Gansu Electric Power Company, chief engineer Wang Duo rushed to the disaster area to command the rescue work.

    After two days of hard work, as of 24 pm on the 14th, five 110 kV lines, 26 35 kV lines and 90 10 kV lines were restored. Shi Jun, vice governor of Gansu Province, highly praised the rapid development of electric power emergency work. He believed that electric power emergency work was rapid and well organized, and made great progress in two days, which greatly supported the overall flood fighting and emergency work in Longnan.

    According to incomplete statistics, there are still 4 35kV lines, 17 10kV lines, 636 distribution transformers and 10518 users in the affected areas of Longnan power grid. These power facilities are mainly concentrated in Mayan, Huixian County, Huangzhu, Wangmo, Nankang, Songping and other towns in Chengxian county. The reporter saw at the scene that most of the roads leading to these areas were destroyed, and it was difficult for vehicles and materials to reach the repair site. Most of the power facilities were soaked in floods and buried in mud, so the repair was very difficult.
